Terms of Service

ED Plumbing — Last updated: August 2026 — Governing law: Province of Ontario, Canada

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the ED Plumbing website (edplumbing.ca) and any plumbing services provided by ED Plumbing (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

1. Services

ED Plumbing provides licensed plumbing services to residential and commercial customers in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Services include, but are not limited to, emergency plumbing, drain cleaning, pipe repair, water heater installation and repair, leak detection, and commercial plumbing.

All plumbing work is performed by or under the supervision of TSSA-licensed technicians. We reserve the right to decline any job that, in our professional judgment, poses safety risks or falls outside our licensed scope of work.

2. Estimates and Pricing

We provide written estimates before beginning any work. The estimate describes the scope of work and the associated price. Work will not begin until the estimate is approved by the customer.

  • Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
  • Changes to scope requested by the customer after work has begun may result in a revised estimate.
  • Diagnostic fees apply when an assessment is required before a scope can be determined. The diagnostic fee is disclosed before the assessment begins.
  • We do not charge additional surcharges for after-hours, weekend, or holiday emergency calls unless expressly stated in the estimate.

3. Payment

Payment is due upon completion of work unless alternative terms have been agreed to in writing. We accept cash, credit card, debit, and e-transfer. Invoices unpaid after 30 days are subject to a 2% monthly interest charge on the outstanding balance.

For large projects (over $1,500), we may require a deposit of up to 50% prior to commencing work. Deposit terms will be specified in the written estimate.

4. Workmanship Guarantee

ED Plumbing provides a 1-year workmanship guarantee on all labour performed. If a defect in our workmanship causes a failure within 12 months of the service date, we will return and correct the issue at no additional labour charge.

The workmanship guarantee does not cover:

  • Manufacturer defects in parts or materials (covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, where applicable)
  • Damage caused by misuse, unauthorized modifications, or events beyond normal residential or commercial use
  • Failures in pre-existing conditions not identified or addressed in the original scope of work
  • Normal wear and tear

5. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing safe and reasonable access to the work area
  • Disclosing known hazards (asbestos, mould, pest infestations, etc.) prior to our arrival
  • Ensuring that any permits required by the City of Toronto or the relevant municipality are obtained, unless we have agreed in writing to obtain permits on your behalf
  • Payment of the approved invoice upon completion

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, ED Plumbing’s total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount paid by the customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of use, business interruption, or loss of data.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for gross negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law in Ontario.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario. We encourage customers to contact us directly to resolve any concerns before pursuing formal legal action.
